New Business Development Role

We have a new Business Development role, based in our Gatwick office.

Ensign is the only dedicated master trust for maritime employers, with over 60 employers to date, 4,450 members and more than £100 million under management. The plan is portable, allowing members to move from job to job, or career-to-career, whilst taking their savings with them and its flexible retirement options allow for phased retirement through the new income drawdown account.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Ensign offers some of the lowest member charges available, making a big difference to the size of retirement pots over the lifetime of the plan.

Ensign has a strategy and business plan to grow the master trust significantly and is seeking a talented individual to deliver this plan, develop employer relationships and increase the number of employer clients.

Working closely with the Chief Executive, Director of Marketing and the wider Ensign team, the role would see you own Ensign’s overall sales message and act as a driver of business development for Ensign by identifying and creating opportunities and developing and nurturing short, medium and long-term relationships.

We are looking for a self-starter and true networker, able to act independently, open doors and see through to winning new clients, owning the complete sales process.

Previous experience in the maritime industry is not a necessity but an ability to demonstrate a good track record of winning clients in Financial Services, Employee Benefits or Pensions industry is preferable.

The maritime sector makes a huge contribution to the UK economy, supporting just over £40 billion in business turnover and 185,700 employees. It’s also responsible for 95% of our country’s imports and exports. Employment and recruitment in the maritime sector are changing and workers place a great importance on good pension provision. You may have recent experience in a similar role and will certainly possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
