Are you organised, eager to learn and interested in developing a career within the pensions industry? If so, this could be the role for you.
Ensign is the only dedicated master trust (DC pension scheme) for maritime employers. It is governed by a Trustee Board who delegates the day-to-day running of the master trust to its Executive Team.
We are looking for someone to act as Secretary to the Ensign Trustee and its Executive Team. The Trustee relies on its Executive Team and Secretary to ensure the smooth running of Ensign and Trustee Board meetings; as Secretary to the Ensign Trustee, you will initially be responsible for preparing agendas for meetings, organising the preparation of meeting papers, reviewing papers and generally be on-hand to make sure Ensign runs smoothly.
At Ensign, you will be joining a small team of exceptional pension professionals. Our working environment is very collegiate, so you must be an outstanding team player and must possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with good written English. Over time, we hope that you will gain knowledge and experience of the pensions industry and the role of a scheme secretary and have aspirations to take on greater responsibilities.
You may have recent experience in a similar governance role. Alternatively, you may be a recent graduate with limited experience. Whilst experience is valued, we are seeking someone with the right skills and a desire to learn. The company will support the right candidate through training and development.
The maritime sector makes a huge contribution to the UK economy, supporting just over £40 billion in business turnover and 185,700 employees. It’s also responsible for 95% of our country’s imports and exports. Employment and recruitment in the maritime sector are changing and workers place a great importance on good pension provision. Ensign is designed to provide this in a class leading manner.
